Slough Children First is pleased to announce its Board of Directors for the newly council-owned company. The clear ambition is to take the organisation forward in close partnership with Slough Borough Council in order to continue the improvement programme started by the previous Trust. The Board met for the first time on 29 July, and has reaffirmed the organisation’s absolute child-centred vision and ambitions.
Led by new Chair, Tony Hunter, the Board includes representatives of the Leadership Team at Slough Children First and representatives of Slough Borough Council. Three additional Non-Executives Directors add independent experience to the Board.

“Children’s services in Slough have been on a significant improvement journey in recent years and, thanks to the dedication of the team here and, alongside the council, we have helped improve children’s safety, care experiences and life chances,” said Tony Hunter. “Now it is time for the next stage of that journey, as a council-owned company giving even great partnership opportunities. Our new Board will help drive forward these improvements in order to achieve all our ambitions for and with the children, young people and families of Slough.”
