When you are new to care, you probably have a lot of questions – things like where you’re going to live, who you can talk to, what’s happening with your mum / dad, whether you’ll still go to the same school, have the same friends and whether someone will explain to you what’s happening!
The pages in this section of the website, should help answer lots of questions that you have. Look on the main page Children & Young People to tell you all about being in care, as well as all the other pages (like My Education, My Health, Who is Involved in My Care?) for more information. They’re all listed on the left of this page.
Some of our children in care have helped make everything much easier to understand, by making three short animated films for you to watch. They made these (with funding from the Big Lottery and with help from NYAS, the National Youth Advocacy Service).
The budding animators who put these films together are all members of our Care Council group, which meets regularly. Getting involved in the Care Council is a great way to make new friends, enjoy social activities, let us know whether we’re getting things right and generally have fun.
