At Slough Children’s Services Trust (the Trust), as an independent not-for-profit company providing social care and support services to children, young people and families, we’ve been ‘Reclaiming Social Work’ for Slough with a new model called ‘Safe, Secure, Successful’.
And, on Wednesday 21 September 2016 we will be opening our doors to showcase our new social work model for the first time. The Open Evening runs from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
With a number of job vacancies also open for discussion at the Open Evening, members of the Trust’s Senior Management Team including, the Trust’s CEO Nicola Clemo OBE and Head of Operations Eric de Mello will be there to discuss the innovation behind the Trust’s ‘Safe, Secure Successful’ social work model.
The Trust has also been working extensively with Cornerstone and Fostering Network to provide additional support for developing Adoption and Fostering services in Slough including the introduction of Mockingbird.
Commenting on the future and outlook for children’s social care in Slough, Ofsted reported ‘social workers say that they are excited by the opportunity to work in the new organisation and that the senior leaders at the Trust listen to their views. Morale is good, which is crucial at this state, and there is a clear sense of momentum.’
Visitors to the Open Evening will get a chance to view the facilities and witness innovative social work and systemic practice at its very best. Attendees will also be able to engage with other leading edge practitioners and directly observe the new multi agency HUB system unique to Slough.
One of our social workers for the Trust, Harvinder Rajasansi says:
“Working at Slough Children’s Services Trust gives me the chance to work in a more creative way to ensure that children in Slough are protected from harm.
“My career changed direction from me being a lawyer to social worker because I wanted a job where I could feel that I was making a difference. The job can be stressful and demanding, but job satisfaction comes from knowing that I can make a positive change to a child’s life, for the better. It is this notion that gets me up and into work every morning!”
Nicola Clemo OBE, CEO for the Trust says:
“Safe, Secure Successful is a new way of working and enables us to work more closely with the children and families that we support – building trust, improving relationships and achieving lasting change for children, young people and families in Slough.
“It’s an exciting time to join the Trust. There are a number of roles available with salaries starting from £34,000+. These roles are permanent and full time and are ideal for experienced social workers looking for career progression.
Clemo goes on to say:
“Come and meet some of the UK’s leading edge practitioners in social care and witness first-hand how we are all working to ensure that the children & families of Slough stay ‘Safe, Secure and Successful’.”
