We were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Cllr Shabnum Sadiq who we knew very well from her time as lead member for education and children’s services at Slough Borough Council.
Shabnum was lead member for education and children’s services at an important time in the Trust’s development, and her passion for children and dedication to seeing them all have the best opportunities in life will leave a lasting impression. She will be remembered fondly for the close interest she showed in our work, the unwavering support she gave us and, most of all, her devotion to the children in our care.
“Cllr Sadiq’s death is a great loss to the council and the community she served so well,” said Lisa Humphreys, chief executive at Slough Children’s Services Trust. “The thoughts of everyone at the Trust are with her family and friends right now, as well as our colleagues at the council, as they come to terms with this loss.”
This sad news brings close to home the devastating impact of Covid-19 on our community, our country and all across the world, and is a reminder of how important it is to follow the stay at home guidance that will help protect lives.
