If you are concerned that a child or young person is being harmed through abuse or neglect, our Referral and Assessment Service is where to start.
If the child or young person requires immediate protection please call 01753 875362 and send the electronic Multi-Agency Referral Form (MARF) to sloughchildren.referrals@sloughchildrenfirst.co.uk. The operating hours (for this team only) are 9am to 5pm.
Please do NOT use the number above for general enquiries. For these, use 01753 477321 between 9am and 5pm.
For emergencies outside of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, please call the Emergency Duty Team on 01344 351999 email: EDT@bracknell-forest.gov.uk or dial 999.
The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) works with several multi-agencies to gather information on referrals. More information on this, and the Referral and Assessment Service, can be found here.
The ‘triangle’ below visually outlines Slough Safeguarding Partnership’s continuum of need. We use this to clearly (and quickly) identify and assess the level of need and intervention required when a child is first brought to our attention.

Referral process for the Getting Help Team
The referral process for the Getting Help Team has changed, you no longer need to make a referral to Slough Children First but please refer direct to the CAMHS Getting Help Team for mental health support, please fill out the referral form, providing as much information as possible, then email the referral form to CAMHSGettingHelpEastReferrals@berkshire.nhs.uk
The CAMHS Getting Help Team provides assessments and short term, low-intensity treatments for children, young people and their families up to the age of 18 who experience mild-moderate mental health difficulties such as low mood, anxiety and behavior related difficulties. Our practice is based on Guided Self Help and provide CBT-informed interventions for children and young people.
They provide child-directed 1:1 support for young people 12+ and Parent-led interventions for children under 12 which are usually 6-8 weekly sessions lasting for one-hour. They do this through a blended model offering face-to-face and remote (Microsoft Teams) appointments.
At times further sessions may be required or we are able to signpost to other services for further support such as the AnDY clinic (anxiety and depression clinic) or onward referrals to other CAMHS services.
They are available term time and during school holidays so young people can access support anytime during the year. They are open 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
